It has come to my attention that next Thursday, 22nd March, a meeting is scheduled where CEN will decide whether Beautisalon standard will be published or not.
As you might know we organized a claim against a defective standard to stop this standard from being published since it allowed beauticians to do medical procedures which endangers the public and allows laser manufacturers to sell directly to them. As a result of our action the advanced treatments were removed from the draft standard.
Since this decision attempts have been made to add these advanced treatments as technical specification to the standard and over-throwing the decision to remove these procedures.
On behalf of all European Plastic Surgeons I wrote a joined letter to CEN. We also made a second claim against a defective standard.
Depending on the outcome of this meeting I might call upon you support us in order to protect the general public in all our countries.
